Clouds Around the Giam(Flag Rock)
The sight of a flag-like rock, Giam stuns you when you look at Mt. Juwangsan. Green trees and magnificent rocks in Mt. Juwangsan daze visitors' eyes. Of these rocks, Giam is the most remarkable one.
As you climb up or down the mountain, you can feel the magnificence and splendor radiating from this rock. And the calm and composed beauty carved by wind over time comforts the mountaineers' minds.
Giam shows the changes of season and weather occurring in Mt. Juwangsan very well. The scene of Giam surrounded by white fog in the early morning or right after rain makes you feel like you are looking at the heaven on this earth. Many people consider it the most mysterious scenery of Mt. Juwangsan.



Sunrise Seen from Wanggeoam Rock
Even though Mt. Taehaengsan(933.1m) on the northern border of Mt. Juwangsan National Park is the highest in the national park, the peak at 720.6m above sea level behind the Daejeonsa Temple is the main peak. And Gamebong Peak(882.7m, also known as Seongneumbong Peak) is considered the best scenic spot. The trail along the ridge starting from the col on the east of Gamebong to Geum-eun-gwang via Wanggeoam, and Meokgudeung is closed to the public.
The entire area around Mt. Juwangsan is visible from Gamebong Peak. The best trail starts from the right fork above the 2nd fall of Jubangcheon Valley and continues to Sachanggol, When you reach Hurimegi, take the left road along the valley to the mountain top. When you climb down, at the first col on the northeast ridge, taking the left road at the first col on the northeast ridge leads you to Naewon Village and taking the right road leads you to Jeolgol.



Fresh Verdure Around the First Waterfall
This fall creates very cheerful sounds. The source of this fall is not visible but the sound of water coming from Haksodae will wash away any emptiness you might feel.
Rock cliffs surrounding this fall block wind and create a serene atmosphere. The falling water breaks this tranquility and continues its journey downward.
A rainbow formed in the spray of waterfall enchants the visitors.
In the pool under the fall, schools of fish swim around. And the pebbles in the water tempt hikers to soak their feet in the water. In the cracks of the rock cliffs, wild flowers bloom. And when you look up, the clouds floating in the sky are visible between the rock cliffs.



Naejuwang Scenery
Mt. Juwangsan is well known for beautiful autumnal leaves. The scene of the mountain in the fall ablaze with colorful leaves excites the visitors like the rouge on a bride's face excites her groom.
Mt Juwangsan can be divided into two areas; Oejuwang(Outer Juwang) and Naejuwang(Inner Juwang). Oejuwang have many attractive spots to which legends are attached, such as Juwangam Rock, Juwanggul Cave, Yeonhwagul Cave, Jahaseong, Giam Rock, and Mangwoldae. On the other hand, Naejuwang is not frequented as much as Oejuwang. It is a beautiful place to enjoy nature and scenery in serenity. Walking in this remote and undisturbed area gives you the feeling of mystery. Hikers enjoy walking on fallen leaves in the autumn.



Old Trees in Jusanji Pond
Is there any other place that arrests people's hearts like this mysterious place?
Over 100 year-old weeping willows cast their shadows in the pond and create a beautiful scene. In this easy and peaceful atmosphere, you get an out-of-this-world feeling. Maybe because it makes you feel like you are an unworldly hermit.




Moonrise Seen from Mangwoldae
Mangwoldae is at the mid point between the Juwangam Temple and the water fountain. Four or five people can sit on this rock. The view from this rock is wide open and you can enjoy the unobstructed sky. They say that as the moon is not visible from the Juwangam Gorge, Daejeondogun and Baekryeonnangja eased their homesickness looking at the moon on this rock.



Korean Azaleas in Jubangcheon Stream
Korean Azaleas blooming in Mt. Juwangsan announce that spring is in full swing. The flowers evoke the sad legend, which goes like this. 'The blood of King Ju became Korean azaleas.'
Whatever the legend, the reputation of these beautiful and elegant flowers attracts people to Mt. Juwangsan.
The fact that Korean Azalea Festival is held every year to pay a tribute to King Ju and to wish for the safety of hikers proves that the flower represents Mt. Juwangsan.



Snowscape of Woloe Fall
Located in Woloe-ri, Cheongsong-eup, this 11m high masculine fall creates enchanting scenery when clouds of water spray surround the area like a fog.











Ice at Juwanggul Cave
Many people say that autumn mountains with colorful autumn leaves are more beautiful than winter mountains with bare trees.
However, the scenery of Mt. Juwangsan can be the best in winter because of ice. Especially, when the stream of water flowing near the Juwanggul Cave freezes, straight and strong ice pillars are formed. Faint candlelights seen through the ice pillars create a dreamy scenery.



Jusanji Pond
It is about 2 km from Ijeon-ri, Budong-myeon, Cheongsong-gun. It is a 100m long, 50m wide and 8m deep small pond in Mt. Juwangsan National Park. The pond is surrounded by a thick forest that stretches to Yeonbong Peak. The atmosphere here is so tranquil and restful that you can forget all your troubles.
Since it was constructed, it has never dried up even during the severest drought. About thirty 150-year-old weeping willows growing in the pond create an incredible scenic beauty.
Some scenes of the movie, 'Spring, summer, fall and winter' were shot here. This movie won the Best Picture Award at the 4th Daejong Film Festival and the Best Picture Award at 2003 Blue Dragon Film Awards.
'Spring, summer, fall, and winter' is a movie that allegorized a man's unusual life as the changes of seasons and the cycles of life of Buddhism.



Jeolgol Valley
The trail along the Jeolgol Valley is quieter than the main trails via Daejeonsa Temple or the fall. Crystal water flowing all year round, strangely shaped rocks, and thick forest create an otherworldly atmosphere.
This place got its name from a temple existed here long time ago. Now, there is no trace of the temple and only the name, Jeolgol remains.



Cheong-un Stream
Located at about 5km from Cheongsong-eup on the way to Mt. Juwangsan, this naturally formed park attracts about 50,000 visitors yearly. It is one of the best summer vacation spot because of the clean water, beautiful scenery and the cool breeze from the valley.





Sinseong Valley
This 4km long valley with beautiful scenery, crystal water, and thick pines is one of the best summer vacation spot for family or group gatherings. The 3km section from Sinseong Valley to Baekseoktan, Gowa-ri has been designated as No. 1 scenery of Cheongsong's 8 most beautiful sceneries.







All the good natural things a forest can offer, such as beautiful trees, fresh air, crystal water, and beautiful sceneries, are here. And minimum convenience facilities are provided. As National Road No. 31 connecting Cheongsong and Pohang passes through this forest, transportation is convenient. Measurement of air quality revealed that the air here is the best in the nation and thus this area is optimum for a forest scent bath. In addition, many tourist attractions such as Mt. Juwangsan National Park, Dalgi Yaksutang Mineral Spring, Jusangji Pond, and Eoremgol Valley are within 20 minutes' reach. As the East Coast is about 1 hour from here, tourists can enjoy both forest scent bath and swimming in the sea.



Eoreumgol is located in Naryong-ri, Budong-myeon, Cheongsong-gun. In summer people line up to get spring water from here. And the stream of water falling from the 60m high cliff washes away the summer heat. In winter, a magnificent ice cliff is formed on the fall, which attracts ice climbers. Every year an ice climbing competition is held here. This fall is a 62m high man-made fall. The water is pumped up from the valley. The Cheongsong county government constructed this fall in Eoremgol in August 1999 as part of the New Millennium Project. It is the highest man-made fall in Korea.



Good quality hot spring was discovered at the depth of 719m in the site of Juwangsan Tourist Hotel and a hot spring license was obtained in May 2000. The size of spa is about 1,300 square yards and it can accommodate up to 400 people at the same time. The PH level of the water is 9.58 and the water is smooth to the touch.
Hot spring has therapeutic effects on neuralgia, rheumatoid diseases, and skin diseases. This place is very popular as a tourist attraction as it is closely located to Yaksutang and Mt. Juwangsan.



Dalgi Mineral Spring
The water running through the valley of Mt. Juwangsan is unbelievably clean. The waterfalls and strangely shaped rocks in the valley bring out exclamations from people. Natural Monument, Willow in Bugok, Woloe Fall, and Cheongsong Folk Museum nearby add interest to this place. And the Exhibition Hall of Stones with Flower Patterns located in Jinbo-myeon adds interest to the trip to this area.

Sinchon Mineral Spring
As it is located in a remote place, this area has been well preserved.
They say that in the old days magistrates who were assigned to Cheongsong cried when they headed to Cheongsong and also when they left Cheonsong. When they first came to Cheongsong, they cried because the area was so remote. And when they were leaving, they cried because they were so sad to leave the good-hearted people there.
Like the tale, this place is beautiful and people are nice. On the way to the mineral spring, you can enjoy the beautiful nature and experience the hospitality of local people.
